The Things You See Sometimes

Oh the fun of living in the city. I say this with sarcasm, by the way. This morning I was working on my writing and one of my cats was diligently making as much noise as she could playing with the blinds of the window behind me. Eventually the muse had enough of the noise so I got up to move her from the window.

Right outside of this window is a fence that partitions my place from the one next door. But their land is slightly elevated, so from this window it is unfortunately easy to see into the yard next door. Even when you really aren't trying to do so.

Apparently my neighbors next door decided to try voyerism this morning because they were having sex right there in the backyard against a tree. It took me a second to realize what I was seeing.

I think they really need a higher fence. And I certainly won't be opening those blinds for a long time:)

Taking The Power Back

The other day I had my fortune told. It was part of a charity silent auction we did at work, and my bid was one of the winners.

I went into it a bit skeptical because I had never had something like that done before. But the man that did it was very interesting. He was a licensed psychic counselor. I found the experience to be very interesting and enlightening.

The whole reading was very positive, and he spent a lot of time talking about how wonderful my recent decision was. It was meant to be, he said. Now I had not said anything at all to him about anything. So when he mentioned writing, I'm sure my eyes got a bit big. But I was told I am finally forging down the path that I should have been on.

That's nice to know. I wish they'd help guide me toward the ending of my wips....lol.

So I was told that I needed to take my power back. Someone has been taking my power from me when I wasn't looking. My power chakra is apparently partially blocked as well. He told me one way to begin cleansing this chakra was through positive affirmations.

Overall it was a very good experience. I also find myself wanting to go to a second psychic reader and have him/her read me. You know I want verification. A test of sorts.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention this little morsel of info. He told me I had a spirit in my house. He said spirit and I immediately thought of my liquor. But apparently he's talking about the bump in the night sort of spirit.

I so did not need to know about that spirit.

So, in the spirit of positive affirmations, I challenge everyone to post one good thing about yourself.

I'll begin: I am very creative.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Those Elusive Ideas

The past few nights I've had dreams that I actually woke up remembering. For a few seconds. I know; this isn't a strange concept for most. But for me, it is. I typically do not recall my dreams.

The annoying part is that I leap out of bed practically shouting, "Eureka! That's a perfect book!" By the time I get something to write it down on, the entire thing is gone. Why must the muse tease me this way?

I have tried the notebook by the bed with a pen. I wake up and the pen isn't there anymore. One of my two cats managed to drag it away at some point in the night.

So, here is a question for anyone reading this: Do you have any tricks you do to remember what you dream?

I can't help but find it amusing that those dreams and thoughts you wish would go away never do, yet the ones you want the most seem to vanish in literally the blink of an eye.

Have a great day everyone!

Fridays: Why I Love The "To Do List Day"

Fridays are wonderful. I love them for a variety of reasons, but one of the most surprising one is how much I love writing up a list of "Things To Do" for the weekend.

The monotony of the day job during the week tends to suck out a lot of my energy and enthusiasm because I delve 100% of my energy into it. Needless to say, that doesn't leave as much gusto in my energy tank as I'd like to accomplish things during the week.

Sure, I have my bursts of energy where I find myself up until 1:00 a.m. pounding out my latest idea. But that is not regular by any means. So I rely on the weekends to get everything accomplished I want to. Whatever I haven't gotten around to with my writing during the week, I look forward to completing during the weekend.

So, as the slate is wiped clean and another weekend is coming around the corner, I have a mighty long list of things to do. Don't you wish weekends were 3 days long instead of 2?

What is on your list of things to do?
